The San Andreas Quake was a cataclysmic trigger event that occurred on May 19, 2015 at 12:30 PM PST. The Earthquake was recorded at 9.1, which is tied on the 4th strongest earthquake. The epicenter of the earthquake was 144.7 miles east from downtown Los Angeles telecommunication-towers were lost as early as 30 seconds after the earthquake started. There were at least 5 aftershocks ranging in magnitudes from 5.3 to 7.5. The resulting fires caused an extra 1,500 injuries and caused 500 billion dollars in damages. The triggered event occurred on San Francisco's end of the San Andreas fault and was recorded at 9.6. The resulting tsunamis destroyed the ruins of the following cities, Monterey, San Francisco, San Jose, Los Angeles, Laguna Beach, Newport Beach and all other coastal cities and islands. Both earthquakes caused California to break off of the mainland United States. Electricity was out until July 28, 2015.
