The 2074 Mt Etna earthquake was an event that opened a volcanic fissure, and caused Mt Etna to resume to erupt, about a month after the original eruption.

The earthquake added to the destruction of the observatories on the volcano, and caused yet more landslides in the area. Unusual in its intensity, the quake led to the collapse of 12 buildings in Zafferana Etnea, which injured 2 people in the town. Another 4 people were injured after a train was derailed nearby.
